Democracy and Human Rights Policy

The Future Forward Party seeks an amendment on constitution, legal system and political institutions to befit democratic values and human rights. For this to become a reality, the constitution must be revised in order to grant the people their opportunities to recreate the new constitution which comes from the people and truly values democratic principles according to international standards. This newly drafted constitution should reach consensus of the people and political order which all sides can abide by.

The Future Forward Party seeks to revise legislations and orders issued by National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO), revoke any laws that prevent the people to exercise their rights and ensure all acts related to national security cohere with international standards. The party promises to reform the court and the military to adhere to democratic values and international agreements on human rights.  

The Future Forward Party will establish transitional justice process by forming an independent committee to gather evidences, witnesses, initiate cases, propose amnesty for politically and ideologically motivated offences as well as preparing reports and proposals regarding the political conflicts during the previous time period.
