Economic Policy
Thailand has issued its national economic development plans since 1957. With its consecutive planning for the past six decades, Thailand managed to lift itself from low-income country to gain a place among the middle-income. This growth, however, results in various structural problems, including economic inequality, unequal distribution of wealth, continuous decline in economic competitiveness and production efficiency at international level and many negative impacts on the environment and natural resources.
This underlying issue also affects local goods and services market — which has been monopolized in the hands of only a few suppliers and manufacturers. With these issues in mind, Future Forward Party seeks to implement our economic policy for a fairer and more effective market trade which will not only be free from monopolizing force, but also lessen inequality in all aspects. Future Forward Party seeks amendment on any legal obstacles that stand in between the country’s economic development and its citizens’ quality of life. The party also aims to restructure production and workforce to increase the country’s competitiveness and advance entrepreneurship opportunity for the people, which, in turn, will give rise to more dynamic and inclusive economic development in Thailand.
The Future Forward Party sees a great deal of opportunities in digital economy, and is well-aware of how disruptive digital era can be. With this vision, the party seeks to utilize these technology and its benefits to position Thailand to become one of the leading countries for digital economy in the region. The party will reinforce the usage of modern technology and innovation to improve economic development in both private and public sector.
